Welcome

dresdonThis site is an attempt to simplify the exchange of information and improve communication among English teachers. Everything in here might be specific, but not exclusive, to Gymnasien in Saxony, especially in the Dresden area.

You will have to register to get access (just try to get to the content via the menu above and you will see a registeration form). Registered users can comment on articles, which will hopefully inspire lively discussions. Only English language teachers can register. Please provide your real names and the correct name of your school.

Please note: This is a private initiative to support my work as a “Fachberater”. So this is primarily a platform to introduce and discuss ideas and opinions and not so much a medium to publish official statements of school athorities.

Although this is a site open for registered users only, it should be mentioned that I did not take extensive precautions to keep everything in here top-secret. People using illegal tools might be able to read what is published here. Please keep this in mind when posting.

How to download

Links (underlined text) may open pages or lead to downloadable material. In case of downloadable material, the procedure depends on your browser and its plugins:

  • you are asked what you want to do with the file (open it with the appropriate software on your local comouter or download it to your default download directory)
  • your browser downloads the file to your local download directory wiithout asking
  • the file opens directly in your browser in a new window (This is usually not what you want, so have a look at the last point here)
  • you might want to try using the right mouse button on a link which will invoke a dialogue that offers – among others – the option to save the link target. This will open an explorer window where you select the target folder on your local machine.
